Guerrero's hit gives Rangers 11th straight win - Yahoo! News



Vladimir Guerrero had 13 walk-off hits in his career until last nights at bat.


Vladimir Guerrero who has changed the complexity of the Rangers lineup ripped a line drive to left field to send the go ahead run (SS E. Andrus) home in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates for a 6-5 win.


Rangers started the game with a 4-0 deficit in the first inning. Throughout the course of the night thanks to some key performances, the Rangers rallied back

Ranger's third basemen, Michael Young had a run scoring triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure another spot in Ranger's History. With his 45th, Michale Young set the record for Most Career Triples in Ranger's History.

Hot hitter, Josh Hamilton went 3 for 4 with a run scored and a stolen base while the Ranger's slugger 1B Justin Smoak tacked on 2RBIs.

Guerrero, the hero of last nights game, scored for 2 runs and grabbed his only RBI on the 2-out hit in the bottom of the ninth.


***Once again a stat that keeps flying under the radar is how many the Ranger's are leaving on base. In Thursday night's game, the Rangers left eight men on base. This 3-game series vs. the Pirates the Rangers Team LOB was 5 in the first game and Team LOB was 13 in the Wednesday's game ***

 Rangers general manager Jon Daniels paid off a bet with E. Andrus and added blonde highlights to his brown hair on Thursday. Daniels had accepted a dare from Andrus to dye his hair if the team's winning streak reached ten.
